Acceptable Use Policy

The short list of things that will get an account suspended.

Last updated: August 2026

Scope

This policy applies to anyone using a Merilsoft product or service, including Pacific POS and anything we build for you. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions; where the two overlap, the stricter reading applies.

You may not

Use the services to break the law; process payments for goods or services you are not authorised to sell; attempt to gain access to another customer's data; probe, scan or load-test our infrastructure without written permission; upload malware; or resell the service as your own without an agreement in place.

Data you upload

You are responsible for having the right to the data you put into our systems — including any personal data about your own customers or staff — and for telling those people what you collect and why.

Security research

Good-faith security research is welcome and explicitly exempted from the 'probe or scan' restriction above, provided you follow the responsible disclosure process on our security page and give us a reasonable window to fix what you find.

Enforcement

Where we can, we will contact you and give you a chance to fix the problem before acting. Where the issue is active abuse, fraud, or a threat to other customers, we may suspend access immediately and explain afterwards.
